"A Persian fable says: One day, a wanderer found a lump of clay; so redolent of sweet perfume, it's odor scented all the room.

'Who art thou?' was his quick demand. 'Art thou some gem from Samarcand?, or spikenard in this rude disguise, or other costly merchandise?'

'Nay! I am but a lump of clay!'

"then whence this wondrous sweetness- say?'

'Friend, if the secret I disclose, I have been dwelling with the Rose!" (Author unknown)

I have always loved this poem!! It reminds me of the fact that we are all unacceptable in God's eyes because of our sin! yet, Jesus died for us to reconcile us to God.

While on this earth, our bodies are but a lump of clay, but we too, can carry with us, the sweet fragrance of Christ, to others everywhere we go, as long as we spend time in His presence each day and allow Him to mould us into something beautiful!

May this year find each of us, sharing the sweet scent of Christ with a dying world.
