The Creativity of God

I marvel at the creativity of GOD. When I look at His Creation all around us, there is more variety and beauty than the human mind can take in. They say there is not one snowflake that is exactly like another; and each person's DNA is different and unique. Can you even begin to understand how that could be possible?

In Exodus 15:11, Moses says, "Who is like unto thee, O LORD, among the gods? who is like thee, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders?" These were the words of Moses after God had saved His people from Pharoah's pursuit and brought them safely through the Red Sea.  Sometimes God has to allow things to come into our lives in order to fully get our attention.  When the Israelites were cornered right up to the edge of the sea with Pharoah's army in hot pursuit, with nothing on their hearts but total destruction of God's people; they had no where else to turn but to GOD for help. God did not fail them.  He never fails His people when they cry out to Him for help or consolation or wisdom or direction. He has no limitations, as we do.

When we walk through this world, at times we receive devastating news that can throw us to the ground if we let it. Or something can happen in our lives that makes us think we are totally alone or ask "WHY?? GOD???"  BUT, if we turn our eyes to Heaven and seek His face and quiet our hearts to hear Him speak to us, He will not let us down. Ever. But we have to remove ourselves from the noise and distractions of this present world we live in to really, REALLY hear Him, for He speaks in a 'still small voice', unlike the world.

I'm afraid that too often I allow myself to become so busy with, really 'nothing', to clearly hear Him speaking to me.  I used to spend hours and hours just reading and studying His Word, looking for answers and wanting to hear His voice giving me direction.  Lately, I'm afraid I have allowed "the things of this world" to take up more of my time than should be the case.  Why would we do that, when we have a GOD who created everything that exists? Who has the answers to ALL of our questions and problems and concerns? Who loves us and desires more than anything to BE with us and commune with us and direct us and help us and care for our every need?  Jesus said in John 16:33 "These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world."

We all long for that inner peace, don't we? I find it by allowing myself to get alone with God.  To just sit in the silence and listen for Him; to allow myself to become aware of His presence in my life. To meditate on His greatness.  In His Word, He asks why do  we worry about the little things? Our lives do not exist in these things.  Jesus said "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God." (Matt. 4:4) God HAS ALL THE ANSWERS!  To EVERYTHING!  All we need to do is ask ... and listen... and wait on Him.

This post came about because just yesterday, our family received bad news about one of our relatives. It seems that he has inherited a 'gene' from his Dad that has caused a disease to begin in his body for which science has no answers or cures.  This disease is terminal.  He has begun showing signs of the disease and that's why he went to be tested to see if, indeed, this is the cause.  The news came back as positive.  One little gene in his body, a unique gene, has become active and will radically cause his life and that of his family, to change forever. After receiving that news yesterday, their lives will never be the same again.  Yet God knew this from the time he was formed in his mother's womb; and He allowed it to happen.  We want to ask "Why??" "Why him Lord? When all his desire is to serve you and help others?" Our God is so far beyond what we can imagine as are His ways and motives for what He allows in our lives. He has His reasons, and they are always GOOD, no matter how they appear to us 'humans' with our small understanding of things.

When some people receive devastating news such as this, they cry out to God in anger; or turn their backs on God and curse Him for allowing it. Our relative loves God and publicly posted for all his friends to read, that all he desires is to serve God with whatever amount of time He allows him to have here on this earth. Are they heartbroken?  Are they shaken? Are they saddened? Of course.  We are all human in human flesh; and yet, he understands that God has always had a purpose for his life and he wants to fulfill that purpose even if it means ending his life earlier than he thought.

God is merciful, full of compassion and love for His own. He is diverse.  Diverse enough that He created our bodies in such unique ways that one little gene can change the course of a human life. Yet there is beauty in what He creates and He only does that which is good in the lives of His own.

We will be praying daily for our relative and his family.  We will pray that God will lead them and allow him to accomplish all that God had planned from before He was even born, to bring glory and honor to Himself through this life that God created to serve Him.

Blessed is the Name of the LORD.
